Don't believe people who have told you that the Orphaned Works Act has gone away. The new, "revised" version (which according to the IPA is much of the same, and they have draft copies) is due out this week.

Furthermore, I'm pissed off that anybody would question the intelligence of people who believed that it WAS coming. GUESS WHAT GUYS, IT IS. GUESS YOU HAVE TO DO SOME BACKTRACKING NOW! And I would suggest that you do your OWN research before discounting something like this so easily and turning around to insult the people who ended up being RIGHT.



EDIT: Just to make things absolutely clear (which I realize I didn't do after :devTwilightAmbience: gave such an excellent and calm response, thanks man ), I don't really care if you're in the "end of the world" boat, the "better safe than sorry" boat, or the "it's not a problem" boat. I DO care that other people are basing not thinking about the issue on the fact that the bill was outdated at the time that it was brought to peoples' attention. There's really no excuse not to do some hard thinking about it and to let you opinions be known to those in charge, i.e. your representatives. At the point that it was brought to peoples' attention, it was already a for-certain thing that there would be a new version of the bill. And I do care that the people who chose to ignore it for this reason turned around and called others idiots for what they are now guilty of.

For shame.
