Yep, she's here.

If you want pictures, send me a note and I'll give you a link (normally I wouldn't be squeamish about pictures relating to my real life, but she's my baby and there are a lot of weirdos out there

).
For those of you who want more details, here they are--feel free to skip this paragraph if you don't want to hear about it.

Anyway, I went into labor at 6:33 PM on October 22, and by 7:00 my contractions were only three minutes apart! For those of you who don't know, you're supposed to go to the hospital when your contractions are five minutes apart, after an hour of timing them. We decided to forgo the hour-long wait because they were getting very painful and progressing quickly. This turned out to be a good idea, because by the time they admitted me to the hospital triage unit my contractions were 1-2 minutes apart and I was five centimeters dilated! You go into active labor after dilating to ten, and the first nine went by very quickly. I ended up pushing for quite a long time before they took other measures, but I didn't have to have a C-Section and I didn't get badly hurt, so I don't really care.

Summer is extremely healthy and she's a very docile baby! We have to wake her up every three hours to feed her, otherwise she'll just sleep right through feeding time. They tell me this is normal for the first three days, and she's showing signs of waking up more often now. Either way, I'm a happy first-time mommy and I'm well on my way to mending.

Thanks for understanding the lack of updates lately, folks!

You're the best!
