EDIT: Just to be clear, this is a screenshot of the front page, after an straight hour of hitting 'reload' in an effort to view the most popular pieces for today.

Not quite devious fun, I know. But, before you get angry, please consider this:
1. I spent most of today trying to upload some of my art. It took one piece two hours to go up. As some of the artists in the fractal art community can attest, it took hours and hours just to be able to put our pieces up in general today. We're not even a very popular gallery, so I can't imagine what it must have been like for the other galleries. There is a problem here.
2. After I had finally gotten deviantArt to recognize that a) yes, my piece had actually been submitted, b) that I hadn't tried to submit it twice, and c) that I had everything else in order--not only did I have to edit my deviation because the picture wasn't showing up on anyone's displays, but I had to go through a long edit in which I tried to get it to recognize the file again.
3. Even after going through all that, I can't submit my images for printing because deviantArt still doesn't recognize that there's an actual, non-corrupt image there.
4. I go to view other people's art, and it doesn't load. I hit reload. It still doesn't load. I repeat this for a very, very long time. The count is up to an hour right now. I just want to see the most popular pieces. It doesn't look like it's going to happen, and that makes me sad.
5. Finally--the pièce de résistance, in my opinion--I get the idea to do this and try to figure out which section it should go into, and the link for the descriptions of what every section is for only goes to the submit page.

Okay. I can stand bugs. I can stand a few--okay, a LOT of--errors. I can sit there and try to resubmit a piece over and over again for hours, until my hand feels cramped, until my back is numb, and until my fingers are sore. I can stand that.
But I came on this site to view art, not to view a bunch of the same placeholder.
With that in mind . . . *Straps on the asbestos underwear*

I remeber laughing so hard at that, that I attracted weird looks from my roommates.
